How to Start the Hoppip Spring Event in Pokémon Pokopia

Pokémon Pokopia has barely been out for a few days, and it’s already celebrating the season with its first in-game event. If you log in right now, you might notice something a little different around town — flowers, a new visitor, and the start of a small spring-themed adventure.

The Hoppip event adds a handful of seasonal decorations along with the chance to invite Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff into your world. It’s a simple event, but if you don’t know where the first step is, it can feel a bit confusing at the start.

So if you’re wondering how to trigger the event and begin collecting the items you need, here’s how it works and where to look.

When the Event Happens

The Hoppip event runs from March 9 through March 24.

You’ll know the event has started when you leave your house and get a notification saying a new Pokémon has appeared.

If that notification doesn’t show up immediately, it may simply trigger the next in-game day. That happened to a few players, so don’t panic if nothing happens right away.

First Stop: The Pokémon Center

Once the event triggers, head over to the Pokémon Center.

You’ll notice pretty quickly that something is different — the area is decorated with flowers and spring touches, which is a nice little seasonal detail.

Floating nearby you should see Hoppip.

Talk to it and it will ask you to help collect Cotton Spores.

That’s where the event really begins.

The tricky part is that you won’t find Cotton Spores in your main world.

Where to Find Cotton Spores

To collect Cotton Spores you’ll need to travel to a Dream Island.

You can do this by talking to Drifloon and giving it any Pokémon doll you own. Once you do, Drifloon will send you off to a Dream Island to explore.

During this event, Dream Islands are filled with floating Cotton Spores.

You’ll see them drifting around the environment, and sometimes you can even find them underground in caves.

The fastest way to gather them is by holding down the Y button, which pulls nearby spores straight into your inventory.

A couple helpful things to know:

• You can revisit the same Dream Island multiple times in a single day
• You can’t travel to a new Dream Island until the next day

So it’s worth exploring thoroughly before leaving.

Returning to Hoppip

Once you’ve gathered a decent amount of Cotton Spores, head back home and return to the Pokémon Center.

Hoppip will now be standing behind the counter, and this is where you can start spending your spores.

The event shop includes a bunch of spring-themed furniture, including items like:

• picnic blankets
• flower cushions
• lunch boxes
• other floral decorations

Some of these items are purely decorative, but others are important for the next part of the event.

Unlocking Hoppip Habitats

The real goal of the event is unlocking special habitats that allow Hoppip and its evolutions to appear in your world.

There are three habitats you can create during the event.

Yellow Carpet Habitat

Requires:
• Dandy Flowers ×4

Possible Pokémon:
• Hoppip
• Skiploom
• Jumpluff

Field-Trip Friends Habitat

Requires:
• Flower Backpack ×1
• Lunch Box ×1
• Hoppip Water Bottle ×1

Possible Pokémon:
• Skiploom

Dandelion Lunchtime Habitat

Requires:
• Dandy Flowers ×1
• Flowery Table Setting ×1
• Flower Cushion ×1
• Lunch Box ×1

Possible Pokémon:
• Jumpluff

Once these habitats are placed, you’ll start seeing those Pokémon appear naturally.

A Cozy First Event

What I really like about this event is that it fits the overall vibe of Pokopia perfectly.

It’s not stressful or time-pressured. Instead it’s about exploring, gathering, decorating, and slowly inviting new Pokémon into your space.

For a first event this early after launch, it’s honestly a pretty charming start….
