My Dream Pokémon Day Announcements

Every year, I tell myself I’ll be normal about Pokémon Day.

Measured. Realistic. Mature.

And every year, I fail. So instead of pretending I don’t have hopes, here’s my completely speculative, slightly chaotic, entirely heartfelt Pokémon Day wishlist.

1. More Pokopia Trailers. Immediately.

Yes, I know Pokémon Pokopia launches March 5.

Yes, I know we already have details.

No, I do not care.

I want more.

I want:

  • A cozy gameplay deep dive
  • More footage of building and decorating
  • A closer look at Pokémon interactions
  • Music previews
  • A full breakdown of how crafting works

I am tired of waiting.

This is the first Pokémon title in a long time that feels built for slow players. For builders. For people who want to live in the world instead of speedrunning it.

Give me ten more minutes of footage and I will analyze every frame like it’s a Zapruder film.

March 5 cannot come fast enough. And yes, I will be playing it on stream all day.

A 30th Anniversary TCG Tease

Version 1.0.0

This is the one I doubt we’ll get.

But imagine.

The 30th anniversary is coming. You know they’re cooking something. A commemorative set. A nostalgia-heavy, art-forward, possibly chaotic collector event.

I don’t even need full details.

Just give me:

  • A logo
  • A month
  • Two preview cards

That’s it.

Let me mentally budget.

Let me emotionally prepare.

A 30th anniversary set could be Base Set callbacks. Modern reimaginings. Legacy trainers. Alt-art starters. A chaos mashup of every era.

Even a tiny teaser would send the community into joyful meltdown.

And I would absolutely be one of them.

A New Eeveelution (Ghost Type, Obviously)

I know.

I know.

You’re tired of Eevees.

I am not.

Give me a Ghost-type Eevee evolution.

Take my money immediately.

Eevee has explored water, fire, electric, psychic, dark, grass, ice, fairy.

You’re telling me we can’t have a haunted, ethereal, moonlit, soft-spooky evolution?

I don’t want edgy horror. I want gentle ghost. Forest spirit energy. Glowing eyes. Wispy tail.

Call it whatever you want.

I will build an entire binder page around it.

And yes, I will cry.

Just Put All the Older Games on Switch

We already know about Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen being available.

Great.

Now do the rest.

All of them.

Gold. Silver. Crystal.
Ruby. Sapphire. Emerald.
Black. White.
The weird spin-offs.

Just launch them.

Let adults revisit the regions that shaped them without hunting down old hardware and praying the battery hasn’t died.

Pokémon’s back catalog is a treasure trove. Make it accessible. Clean. Portable.

Let nostalgia be convenient.

A New Open-World Pokémon Game That Feels Polished

This is the big one.

Give us a new open-world Pokémon game for later this year.

Not rushed.
Not visually struggling.
Not half-realized.

Something that looks good. Runs smoothly. Feels alive.

A world where Pokémon behave naturally. Where towns feel lived-in. Where exploration is rewarding instead of empty.

We’ve seen glimpses of what open-world Pokémon can be.

Now give us the version that feels finished.

Because if Pokémon is going to evolve again, I want it to feel intentional — not experimental.

More Plush. More Hoodies. Immediately.

This one is important.

I need more cozy merch.

Specifically:

An Eevee hoodie.

I already have my Mimikyu hoodie.
I already have my Gengar hoodie.

You’re telling me I can’t complete the trio?

Give me:

  • Soft oversized Eevee hoodie with the hood, the hood is the most important
  • Neutral tones
  • Subtle embroidery
  • Not neon chaos

And more plush, please. High-quality. Huggable. Display-worthy.

Pokémon understands the emotional power of plush. Lean into it.

My wallet is prepared to be irresponsible.

Why I Still Dream Like This

Do I expect all of this?

No.

Will I be disappointed if we don’t get a ghost Eeveelution?

Absolutely.

But Pokémon Day isn’t just about what’s announced.

It’s about imagination.

It’s about letting yourself care enough to hope.

And in my 40s, I still wake up early for Pokémon announcements. I still refresh streams. I still speculate wildly about anniversary sets.

Not because I’m naive.

But because hope is part of the fun.

So here’s to more Pokopia footage.
To anniversary teasers.
To haunted Eevees.
To accessible nostalgia.
To open worlds that actually sparkle.

And if even one of these happens?

I’ll be insufferable about it.
